I know we all use it to cover the metalwork under the car (I even reused it today after the welding work) BUT just look at the state of the metalwork under the old stuff. It only takes a stonechip to puncture the old stuff like this. And the water and salt etc just gets in and starts the rot.

Hmmm. That'll be one of my Dailemmas when i come to protect the underside of my Woody when it;s ready. I'm not sure yet as to what product to use coz there is such a lot of choice. I've seen what you've just described so many times on my old projects and other cars. Time to do a bit lot of research i think.

I should really have put stonechip on it as it is overpaintable and once damaged, it then heals itself because it stays flexible. Then body coulour then waxoyl.

mine has a thick layer of underseal.i just waxoiled over it twice

stonechip then 2 pack body colour then good coat of clear waxoyl is the only way really and it also looks good too
