Been thinking recently about swapping my 13" revo's for some 10x6 alloys (undecided upon which ones - probs minilites tho! ;D) So need to ask some questions now so that I dont make an expensive mistake.... - What exactly will need changing? - What can I check / replace while the driveshafts are out? - Should I lower if anymore than it already is? - Would it be worth partX swapping my 13" setup for the 10" setup that I want or buy what I need get it all fitted then try and flog the left overs? I wont be looking for mint wheels, as I'll only ruin them anyway ;D My parents are going to buy me the bits for xmas so I wanna make a list and start searching for the bits I'll need to be buying

OOOO. Choices. Ok. For starters you can use your old Hubs bearings, CV joints, steering arms and your driveshafts. If you go for the S set up you'll need the Calipers, discs pads, and Drive Flanges. You could use Alloy 4 pot calipers instead. Or Hi-spec discs, grooved and drilled. Not necessary for normal road use though.

Well my parents will probably pay half so I am going to reuse everything I can to keep the cost down. Will take my driveshafts out as it will be easier to switch the bits and also cuz my cv boots need changing Will the bits I need be cheap at Malvern?

You'll probably find the discs pads drive flanges and CV boots at Malvern. There may even be some S calipers there, second hand ones will need rebuilding anyway. They do sell new ones as well, at least 100 notes each.

Already got cv boots ;D
How much would I be looking to pay for pads, discs and drive flanges at somewhere like malvern and also from a mini forum for example?

Rumour has it you can fit fiesta calipers onto turned down 8.4 inch(what you got) and they will fit. I know it can be done but you may need to ask around on here or do a search on here and tmf ( I know someone on there has put up a post) to find out the exact requirements. Mini's look right on 10s m8.

Hmmm thanks lyn for the suggestion but not knowing what I'm doing I think I'll stick to mini bits.
Nice one Phil for posting that, just watched it and can use it for reference when putting my brake setup together.

That's about the average price. If you pick them up at a show you'll save a small fortune on postage. The small 10" discs cost more than 12" discs. I know, don't ask.

Ok, change of plan. Cant really afford to fix something thats already working so I'm going to put the money towards a respray instead.
Will just replace the pads and shoes on my current setup for now as they were advisories on the last MOT. And then sort out the CV boots and maybe replace the dampers so that he got some chance of passing his next MOT in April!

Have a chat to mike (minimiglia) his work is exceptional and his price is keen for forum peeps. He has just done my wife's figaro and it is being delivered back to her tomorrow. Standard grey and white colours but with a gold flip. She can't wait. Seen the pics but can't wait to see it in the flesh. I am home tomorrow so I can't wait neither.

Might have a flip through in W H Smiths and see if its worth doing depending on what they quote the cost of the job at. But looking at other topics on TMF about swapping to 10's I really dont think I can afford it right now
