As per the title just had em back and spent about an hour with 1200 w&d and then some autosol. Just to fit the tires now and get em on the car. They came up like this, what you think.

Nah m8, due to dopey here smashing one of the original wheels with a mallet this week (DOH!) I had to get a spare (2 actually, no spare) from Midland Wheels but they only had the highlight in stock (polished rim) so I had to get 3 wheels cut back to match the new ones, which is what they did for me today, the centre spokes are still painted. They set up the damaged one in the CNC lathe and programmed it to follow the contour of the wheel rim (about half hours work) then after doing a dry run on my furked wheel, it was just a case of getting the wheel DTI'd in the lathe and letting the CNC do the work (about 10 minutes each). Then I had to polish the cut face by hand. Considering they were clean but close up were scruffy wheels they now look exceptional. Once christmas is out of the way I will buy another 2 new ones for the Elf and fit the old ones on my trailer.

cheers mate anyone know the best way of taking the wheels back without them being sand blasted i.e wet + dry, flap wheels etc ? bubbling on some of the wheels, they only gonna be spares etc for next project

What style of wheel m8 cos that would make a big difference depending on the shapes involved. If they are a flat style wheel like a starmag or compomotive mo then use a DA and use finer grades of paper by hand till they are ready for painting, then use a few coats of high build primer before flatting for paint. I know that sounded easy but it will be a lot of work either way. If you can get someone to true the edge of the wheel on a lathe then that will make a big difference to the finish and it will give you less work to do.

I did these for the Astra last year, it took me 2 days cos they were really rough but they looked sweet after. Anything can be corrected withing reason, you could even file the outer edge of the rim and dress it back with wet and dry.

cheers, they minilights very similar to yours m8 I think it will be a case of plenty of elbow grease. The new ones were only £45 per rim new. I think if I had to sort out minilights for a future project I'd just get 1 every month at that price unless you got plenty of time to kill.

think it will be the elbow grease option as not in any kind of rush to get them finished, just wait for missus to put her new starmags on i bought her at malvern + then all the fun can begin ( can't wait ) NOT lol
