Well, the MOT is due end of Jan and Sid is starting to look old now, a bit like an ageing rock star.
When one the the wiper blades flew off when I was driving in a rainstorm, it scratched the passenger side of the windscreen so now theres quite a deep arc-shaped scratch. Is that a fail?
Theres also a rust hole in the bottom of the door skin. Hasnt gone through totally though.
What y'all reckon?
Apart from that, everything else is sound. The subby's are sound, sills are good.

with regard to the scratch it comes down to the tester and wether they think it reduces you feild of vision. door will be fine, even if it forms a hole stick some tape over it to avoid sharp edges and it will pass

if the sratch is within the windscreen wipers arc then it could well fail. mate failed on a stone chip in the arc, (it was so small auto-windscreens said they couldnt fill it)

Yeah. I should change it really. How hard isit to change a windscreen?
It doesnt really reduce my vision though. I dont even realise its there sometimes.

best bet is go down to the MOT station before your test (as in a few days in advance) and ask them to say if itl pass or fail, if they um and arr a bit change it just to be safe.
easier to change the screen and the rubber the same time, order a thick rubber (the best sort) order a shiny trim inserting tool (or borrow from someone) get a new or better secondhand windscreen. cut the rubber on the current screen. pop the screen and the strip out. put the new rubber on the new screen, run cord around the outer lip of the rubber, line it up to the car, get someone to push it onto the bodywork while you pull the string out. get the magic trim tool, feed the first bit of trim through the tool and into the rubber, drag the trim tool along the rubber to feed the trim in. your done!
thats probably the worst example of a how to ever....but tough....lol
