Right well, I sorted the problem I had with the fuel line the other day, and theres definitley no petrol leaking now, but the car wont start at all.
The ignition is clicking really fast and the doesnt even attempt to fire up.
The electrics are working but the petrol gauge isnt going up.
Any suggestions?

check all the leads going to your starter motor, or maybe the solonoid.

Yep I checked the leads and no joy.
Where is the solenoid are how would I check it?

My Bros mini was the same a while back, try charging the battery, if it keeps happening (draining the batter) change it.

how old is your mini mate? the fuel gauge not working could be something simply like the leads come unattached from the sender unit in the boot. with the starter you could try putting the car in gear and rock it back and forth then try starting it again  |

Coedy - Yeah the battery is working, I'm getting electrics. Unless there is enough power to start the cd player, lights etc but not to start the engine? Do you reckon thats a possibility?

my brothers battery would only give out a few volts. so the starter would try to spin the flywheel (or whatever it spins lol) and would just slip becauce it wouldnt have enough power to actually spin it.
his lights and everything still worked after so you could charge it on the off chance if bikers doesnt work? worst case scenario is it isnt that and then you get a fully charged battery! lol

Righto, just tried Biker the madmans idea and for some reason, didnt even get the click so I will charge the battery now. As you said, what harm will it do?
