Recently purchased a set of shorty spanners off ebay for £7.99 and a Britool socket set for £34 (both plus delivery) both sets in sturdy blow moulded boxes (or box and tray ) Used a few times now and very impressed.

Pounds shillings and pennies or Imperial tools are getting harder to find nowadays. When i lived at home my father had a huge set of imperial tools, sockets etc. So when i was eventually shown the door i had to start buying my own. The best small set of sockets i ever bought was a METRINCH set. As the name suggests they can be used for both Imperial and Metric nuts. If i see any Imperial spanners etc in Boot sales i usually buy them, for a rainy day.

Yeah, I agree. Due to not owning an old mini for years and the fact my 90's cooper was serviced with metric stuff I thought I'd invest in a few a/f tools so I don't ruin the elf and the 1980 project by rounding off all the nuts ;D.

True. There's nothing worse than rounding your nuts off.

Unless you lose them they should last you a lifetime. A good investment.
