What an evening

Another highly eventful day its been today, what a joy its been to have broken down twice on the same roundabout!!!

First time the engine started spluttering as I came down the slip road off the m4, even though I had the hazards going and the bonnet on the floor beside the car a council van pulled right up my A*se. So he had to reverse to get around me, serves him right ;D ;D Some random guy with a 4x4 pulls up says I can have a tow if I got rope, dont have any rope so I tries to start it one more time, wahay im off again!

Got to sarah and deans and had a bash at regaping and cleaning the plugs, checking everything else is ok. Took it for a spin and it works fine. I left at about 8pm, 10 mins later I've broken down on the same roundabout but this time almost going up the sliproad (in the wrong direction for home )

Second time was the same as the first spluttering then as I came to a stop it cut out and would not fire up again. Dean comes out to look and we end up leaving the mini all alone on the chequred markings that divide the carriage poor thing!

So we go back to the house to get the jeep, while loving the drive in the 1.6 mini ;D ;D ;D, hitched up the dolly and loaded my mini on no problem. Get down the motorway, still no problem, come off at Pyle and get within 5 miles of my house and one of the wheels on the trailer gives. This is where the fun opposite of fun started

Couldnt get the mini off the trailer, then realised it was the exhaust brackets holding it on (biker will mock me for that forever ) then once we got it raised up enough to push the mini back the trailer twisted and my mini was literally falling off the trailer So after lots of "omg its gonna go" moments we managed to get it on the deck without damaging anything (well except my pride - sarah laughing at me hehehe )

Finally after getting both nackered trailer and nackered mini back to my parents house. Sarah, dean and kids left about 11:30pm ;D

My fathers car keeping the mini in one spot, and deans jeep pulling his trailer out from under it It was a brown trouser moment to say the least!


Me putting a crappy ford jack under the mini to try and lift the trailer under the wheel, I only got the bloody jack stuck under the car! ;D


After walking down the dual carriageway whilst steering my mini, people driving past must have thought I was bonkers!


Once again been roped to the back of my fathers car


Do I still love my mini?

Wouldn't have it any other way!!!! ;D ;D ;D

he he he he ohhh baby you just made my night its sounds soooo funny reading it back, its was bloody freezing but it was sooo funny i really didnt think we were going to be able to do anything when it got stuck on the dolly lol never mind thats all the fun of owning a mini. your still welcome to come down again just dont ring us if you brake down x x

told you so, told you so . glad you got back ok mate although it does sound like an eventfull evening was had by all. sounds like dean & saraH saved the night mate i would of loved to help but i was in a party with the bike club

Was the breakdown Ignition or Fuel related.??

plenty of spark,,,plenty of petrol,,so think the float in the carb is sticking :-/DEAN

I'm putting my money on it being the carb too, I've had it in bits before but I must have put it back together fairly well as it's not played up til now. The joys of owning a mini......... *sigh* ;D

we had similar prob with the dolley + nephews vauxhall combo van, that too nearly fell of ramp. definately brown trousers time
