My mini seems to take a while to warm up, needs about 3-4 mins idling before I can even drive it. I know this will probably be a different story when the nicer weather comes back, but I'm thinking about flushing the entire cooling system out to shift any gunk that has settled before the rolling road day.
What sort of water:coolant ratio does everyone else use in their mini's?

Well this is what my owner's handbook recommends: - But a 50/50 mix should be fine too? Oh and you can get good quality Unipart Coolant from 'Partco'. Their shop is on the main road in Trealaw. You can't miss it as they have stacks of Unipart boxes and stuff in the window. I bought a couple of Unipart Coolant containers from them last Winter.

we usually use about 50/50 mix + keep it topped up throughout the year as a coolent in summer + anti-freeze in winter months
