No Indicators

Hi all,

I have just chaged from the 2 dail pod to a centre binacle , i have used the suggested loom and all in all it was pretty straight forward but now i've connected everthing up i've a slight problem...everthing is working except the indicators. i have checked all the connections, i've checked the fuses but nothing... the hazards work (although the light in the bincle doesnt flash)...i'm at a loss.

I know that the 2 dail set up had an indicator for both directions but i followed some sdvice from TMF and connected the LH and the RH wires to either side of the bulb....could that be the problem? is the bulb getting a live as there is no black wire to it? its a plastic bulb holder so it wont pick it up from the casing...but surely the indicators would work just the bulb wouldnt...

could it be anything to do with the stalk? i hope not i only replaced it about 6 months ago

any help would be appreciated....

Id try changing that wiring somehow, a dead bulb can throw up all sorts of problems for mini indicators, so im guessing that if the bulb isnt earthing it could be stopping everything in its tracks?
Although its odd that the hazards work...

I don't know if it's true on minis but I'm pretty sure most of the time hazards and the indicators use a different circuit, seem to remember Dad telling me that when I was learning stuff for my driving test. So it would still make sense that the hazards work but the indicators don't.

Possibly narrows the problem down to the indicator circuit, provided they are seperate?

Problem solved, i hadnt put the flasher unit in... well to be honest i'd totally disregarded it, i thought it was the voltage stabiliser from the old pod....long story but i'm all working now.

The 2 circuits have different live's, one is swithed, one isnt

I guess it's almost there now i've put this in...

carpets are done, seats are done, i've boarded out the back, 80mm rev counter in...just got to sort the dash liner out and it'll be there...oh and a set of door cards....black radio housing and steering column cowl...it really does never end!

outside i'm looking to get some lowered spax and a 10" disc conversion for the brakes, i've got a set of 10 x 6 cosmic mk2 that need a refurb but they might look lost under the arches in which case it'll be some 10 x 6 deep dish superlites to replace the 13 x 7 deep dish i have now

will get some pictrures up but that'll probably be next weekend now, it's dark when i get home!
