First mini I had was a T reg mini city Which had horrible chocolate brown interior which I rescued from my mates drive before the DVLA crusher got to it.
Got it home and started to strip it down to see what was wrong with it, At that point I realised I should have left it there. It was like something out of the flintstones. LOL

My 1st official mini was a 1963 mongrel (A plate). Cost me 110 notes, paid my pa back £2 a week back in 1976. What clinched the deal was a set of wide steels & 1in spacers. I brush painted it BRG with a white roof, went through at least 3 1098 engines in a short space of time. It got chopped up eventually. I kept the wheels as spares, just as well really, they turned out to be LP883s. SPAWNY GIT or what!!!!!. dai.

My first mini was a T plate clubman, I was offered a fibreglass flip front so cut a perfectly good clubbie front end off..... Doh.
it had rubber lugs on the sides to hold the front to the body, the amount of times i drove off with the lugs undone, only to find out at the end of the street when the front end smashed into the road... lights smashed every time.... lol ahhh the good old days

My first was a 1974 (m reg) mini 850, made up of 2 minis (the other one was an r reg 850 in green) and a lot of new panels....my friend max took at least a few months doing it up for me and making it safe to drive, i even passed my test in her many moons ago.

My first Mini was passed on to me and it was a 1975 MKIII Mini 1000 in beautiful Tahiti Blue.
I passed my driving test in it, crashed it a few times and then sold it on for a profit.
I'd had so much done to it that it was still on the road some 7 years later.
I wish I'd kept it now because there's nothing like your first Mini, although I'm passionate about the one I have now anyway.

They've been up my way filming a few times, but it's harder than trying to meet the royals though and we didn't get autographs.

Yes it's hard to meet the stars of the show, unless you go to a convention and pay lots of money that is.
