i would have thought its best to change the whole section, i.e drill out the spot welds along the windscreen and A pilar then cut the scuttle so that the new one fits in.
im sure dai will be able to tell you im pretty sure he's done it on his woody

I've started putting a HOW TO guide together with Pics, procedure etc. Still haven't finished it yet, but when i do i'll post it up for you. There was some of it on my Woody Resto thread. The rest is history.

i love books like that, i got a original bmc dealer workshop manual somewhere which has a body work section and its before MIG was used so every thing is done by gas welding and it shows how to use wet asbestos to stop panels warping also other useful things like lead loading which i really wanna try

may not be worth mentioning, but the guy who did my car for me replaced the whole thing on mine even though the center of mine was fine. he did it because the repair sections are very hard to fit. we took him a non genuine scuttle and the fit was miles off, so he cut the corners off and used them for scuttle closure panels (seeing as mine had rotted away). then we got a genuine scuttle panel and it fitted on perfectly!

if you do change the whole lot you could use the repair panels as closures? lol. although see how well the repair sections fit first, each mini is different!

My scuttle along with a few other panels need replacing on my mini. I was told the same thing that you should replace the whole thing because itl be a better job. Coedy, do you have a number for the guy that did the work on your car? Im having trouble finding somwhere to the work needed on mine
