What, standard Rover O/E Minilite style alloys, or will any 12" Minilites do? I know the original Minilite company still exists, but many claim that the Minilife wheels look more like the Minilite alloys of old, than the ones that Minilite produce today!

I dunno, there's always one isn't there? ;D Anyway most good tyre fitters can order a set of nice 12" tyres for you (just keep away from places like Kwik Fit or ATS though). The best type are 165/60x12 either Yokohama or Falcon. Yokohama are generally recommended as being the best, but Falcon are a bit cheaper and I have a set of their new asymmetric type tyres fitted to my Mini. Their a vast improvement over the old directional type, both in the wet and dry, so the choice is yours. Although you may need to fit thin 5" spacers and possibly longer wheel studs on the rear to prevent any rubbing? Otherwise 145/70x12 are the standard type of tyre and their really not so good, especially the budget brands.

Probably the best thing to do is get some quotes from suppliers in your area. The prices quoted from Mini sport and the like may sound cheaper, but by the time you add on postage and fitting locally the tyres start to get expensive. And, if you have a problem with the tyres it's far easier to get them fixed with a local dealer, probably under warranty etc.
