I keep trying out ideas for backlights that havent been done before, but dont want to chav my mini up. I like crystal lenses and I know this is sort of how they look (minus the actual lens) Then I got looking from different angels and realised how much better the mini's bum looks without lenses that stick out. So now im trying to think of a way to 'flatten' the lenses, this would look awesome especially with a smooth bootlid too!

not a bad idea, provided you can get perspex/acrylic formed to the contours of the chrome backing, it should be easy.
most signage companied should have 'prismed' perspex, if you weren't looking for the clear look and could prob form the shape for you.
I'd advise led bulbs tho, as standard bulbs get quite hot and will have less ventilation with the new covers.

I've seen some frenched in ones on a Mini before. Looked tidy. Not to sure how you stand when it comes to MOT time though. I'm pretty sure that the indicators should be visible when viewed side on, for the benefit of other road users. Might be worth checking just in case.M2I.
