Got a strange problem on the 998,, starts and drives great from cold, but after 5 mins of running it starts missing when accelerating, ease off the pedal and its fine, hit a hill and I'm knackered lol.
It's had new plugs, leads, dizzy cap, points, rotor arm and coil, any suggestions?have done the obvious and checked the points gap and loose wires.

Soon as it goes just above the blue, no over heating though, im going to go and strip the carb down, as thought it might be a needle problem ?

Just took it out for another spin, and not a single miss i haven't done anything since last post lol, It did this on the way home from buying it but I put it down to badly adjusted points but there is obviously another problem somewhere tappets sound fine, no obvious play/adjustment needed,

Hmm. What Dizzy are you using.? I'm thinking maybe > Ballasted coil. wrong dizzy. Right dizzy > non-ballast coil. Or condenser breaking down.

Ju said the same so just ran out to check... Standard 998 dizzy, Loom has the pink/white wire. Only markings on the coil are 09-220 electronic coil & 0604 If you can make any sence from that lol

Swapped the coil for Ballast, all seems ok but will need to give it a longer run later, Does anyone know if there should be a resistor fitted ?
