My fuel gauge is no longer working. Its in my mini 35. Worked when i got the car on saturday but had stopped working.
Anybody have any odea what it could be?
are there any common problems? i fitted a carpet the other day? could that have done anything?

check on the side of the tank in the boot. there should be two wires connected to it via spade connectors. make sure these are attached nice and tight.

And if the gauge still refuses to work after checking those spade connectors, try connecting them together with a paper clip and then with the ignition on, the fuel gauge needle should then point to 'Full'. If it does, then maybe the connections on the side of the tank need a little cleaning due to corrosion or whatever. If it still doesn't work, then let us know and we'll have to take things from there as it could be due to a number of factors.

You do have petrol in your tank don't you? But yes, if you're not getting anything from the sender unit on the side of the tank (clean the metal terminals with some emery cloth or similar), then it may need replacing?
