Yeah today is the Official Birthday

Another Mini 50th birthday is being celebrated today, with '621 AOK' turning 50. This special car is often referred to as the first Mini and it can usually be seen on display at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon.

621 AOK was actually the first official production Mini, rolling from the factory on 8 May 1959. It was also the first Morris Mini Minor although several pre-production Austin Sevens had been made before 8 May.
