just got home from work and the car is reving on its own and the needle stays on 2 and revs like mad can anybody help

Time to call in a priest to perform an exorcist? Yes so just keep saying 'the power of Christ compels you' several times and throw some holy water as it might help. Seriously though, it could be due to a sticking throttle cable, throttle to carb spring or when was the last time you put oil in your carb dashpot? Although I'm assuming it's a carb Mini and if it's not, just ignore me.  |

Agree with taffy and sounds like the first thing to check is the dash pot oil

check the dashpot oil and then the throttle cable as everyone said then report back if its still playing up ;D |
