Does anyone have any idea that will help me get the vintage/retro for my MPI. So far I've changed to 10's, changed to Mk2 rear light, changed the front indicators to earlier amber ones, I've got a Morris Cooper Mk1 grille and surround to go on and i want to get corner bars and overriders and a Lucas spot lamp for the boot. Anyone one got any other ideas?

How about a Mk1 style boot lid / number plate holder ?

Oh yeah, that'll look really good. Fold down number plate and little chrome number plate light, cool. Another thing added to my list. I really like all the little retro details! Anything else?

chrome around the door frame/ windows looks pretty cool...like on the early coopers and not too dear....a nice lucas spotlight on the bootlid. and then rip the dash out and put an oval dash in the middle.

You could also fit mk1 rear light plates and lights but then you gotta get paint, as they are a weld in part.:-(

You need an old plate as well, plenty of cheap ones about if you are not too fussy on names and numbers.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to get a Lucas spot for the boot and I'm going to save up a bit of money for the Mk1 boot with fold down number plate and little chrome light because i think that will finish the rear off nicely with a classic black number plate (for show use ). I'd love Mk1 rear lights to but i think it's a lot of work so I'm just going to stick with my Mk2 ones (for now anyway). Probably get them chrome stripes door step things too because they are quite cheap. I quite like the look of the leather bonnet straps to but i don't know if i want to drill holes in the font ?

you could change your arches to group 2 arches with the chrome strip down the whole length of the car? i know its not strictly retro but i think it gives the car a certain retro look.

Yeah I've been thinking long and hard about changing the arches because i really like the black group 2 arches with a black roof but I think my mini is to dark in colour to pull it off. What do you think?

you could always have them the same colour as you car? or just do the arches black and leave the roof?

i'm ashamed to say I am first on the waiting list for some fake external hinges from a company about to making them here in the uk. So far they have only been available from Japan and cost £80 a set They have promised they will be ready in a months time so will let you know what they are like, You could have some perspex sliding windows made up if you could source some runners for them
