Have you been given a price on the fake hinges phil. a set of those would finishoff the mk1 look of my car. i'm not bothered about them being fake, its a mini so you can get away with it, haha. u can get away with almost anything on a mini....within reason.

£50 for both sides mate, I'll find the link to the company now, they were at Bristol with a load of gear, but they wont release the hinges untill they are 100% happy

thats cool, external hinges would be very nice Sebz has photocopied one of the old Mini Mag for me because there is a How to do the external hinge conversion in there, but if the dummy ones look good i'll go for them i think. I'm definetly getting overriders and corner bar thou, i think they look really good! I ain't sure about the sliding window for now, i think its probably something for the later stages. I'm really liking all the ideas thou, What does everyone think about my Tahiti Blue Mini with black Group 2 arches and a black roof?

The general missconception about coopers is that they all had different coloured roofs and I don't think thats correct. They were generally one colour (watch the italian job!) I think a period reg number from one of the reg plate companies and get the plates made up in black/silver pressed jobbies would be far more authentic.

Yeah, thats a good idea to, and it's a nice cheap and easy one to do! Here's what my car would look like with black group 2's and a black roof: I quite like it!

I think a period reg number from one of the reg plate companies and get the plates made up in black/silver pressed jobbies would be far more authentic. The 'Mini Cooper Register' would probably have the final word on this, but for years I believed that the Cooper variants had different colour roofs, where as the Cooper S didn't. But I've heard that they all came with coloured roofs, yet the ones for 'The Italian Job' were specified in one colour to look more patriotic? Either way the MKIII Mini Cooper S tended to only come in one colour anyway.
