I'm seriously thinking about not getting another mini and going on one of these gap year things that takes you around the world, for upto 12 months! I've been looking at a few different websites and its going to cost a few quid to go on anything worthwhile so I am going to have to choose whether I want another car/mini or if I just use my moms car for the time being and save up every penny I can and go on a 12 month sightseering trip. Clicky - Round the World Gap Year - Option 1 is the one that I want to go on, its a lot of money I know but the experience will be like nothing I've ever done before!! I could always come back to mini's in a year or two, now that their in the blood its never going to get out of my system ;D

See the world as there will always be Mini’s when you get back and there will still be forums; you’ll probably easily catch up on the threads.
Looking at the prices though and the 'some accommodation provided’ part I would fully check the itinerary.
I toured around the world many years ago with a mate (feels safer) but researched where I wanted to go, what I wanted to do when I got there and how to behave as well as hotels etc, etc and put it together which cost a fraction of the price, great laugh, memories, excellent people and visited places that are war zones now.

I've only ever been abroad once and that was to Ibiza with all my close family back in 1997. Okay I'm a right miserable git at times, but I developed hay fever the moment I got off the plane and conjunctivitis from the stinking swimming pool that was in the centre of the complex we stayed at. It was during the hot season and I found it pretty tough as I don't like too much heat, plus the apartments we stayed at didn't have air conditioning or even an electric fan in the bedroom. So it was too hot to sleep most nights. Anyway thinking back it cost us a couple of grand for that miserable fortnight and I wish I'd spent it on the Mini instead. Okay I'm being miserable, but even my misses was cheesed off by the second week and wanted to go home. Oh and considering the amount of money it cost us, we'd have liked to have been made to feel a bit special. Instead it was more like 'Holidays From Hell'. But don't let me influence you, because you'll probably have a great time.

I have been on holidays lots of times with my parents and really enjoyed it everytime, they tell me I went to ibiza when I was just 6 months old ;D but I cant remember that far back! I think I really need to do something like this while I'm still young and before its too late. I've got a test today for a welding and fabricating apprentiship, so thats going to decide whether I go or not really because its a 4 year thing and theres no way I can go backpacking anytime soon until I got a job and save up some money. I want to do both but I'll just have to wait and see what unfolds for me now I guess
