hi everyone
I am considering upgrading the ignition system on my car, due to most of my breakdowns being related to that etc and have heard the words megajolt, electonic ignition and other things floating around, does anyone have any advise or suggestions, for someone who knows just enough about whats in there now let alone electronic stuff!! lol.
thanks jamie

that £289 is a bit steep! i built mine for around £150 but i did mount the trigger wheel and fabricate the brakets etc on mine ( and coedys) the cheaper way to do it would be to source most of the parts yourself then buy a trigger wheel and bracket from trigger wheels. fitting is pretty simple the wireing is easy aswell.

just checked the bolt on trigger wheel is £40 and the sensor bracket is £24, which seams reasonable to me
so going on rough prices-
ecu £100-120 ford bits £20-40 trigger wheel and bracket £64 misc connectors, shielded cable etc £10 at most
you could probably get the ecu much cheaper if you go for the older version 3 rather than version 4, theres no real diffrance in capability just v4 is smaller

i fitted an electric module that fits the lucas distributor when mine was having issues with ignition , kit also comes with a magnetic ring that goes over the lobes on the dizzy shaft the magnets in the ring tell the module when to spark and boom , no more crappy points and condenser, and only cost 12 pounds and 75 pence linky www.mm-4x4.com/britpart-electronic-conversion-kit-2720-p.aspAttachments:
