OMG! Thats REALLY bad!! What are they trying to do? ? Milk the Mini brand name for all it's worth, whilst doing irreparable harm along the way no doubt. The BINI really does have an image problem and BMW are like parasites and use the classics history when it suits them. Their recent 'Mini United' was a total sham and their 'scrappage' forecourt displays prove they don't have any regard for the real thing.

But they make lots of money for thier share holders Which is what a business is about I guess. Apart from the disgracefull way they treated classic mini companies I don't think any other car maker would have done anything different. There we are , Can of worms opened ;D

Well okay they do also employ lots of people in this country, but I'd say the profits help support their head office in Munich rather than have a positive effect on Britain?
Plus if they were doing so well, they wouldn't have needed to stoop so low and stick classic or old cars on the forecourt begging people to trade theirs in to receive 2 grand.

That was just one dealership though and from what I read they were heavily dealt with by BMW ( Although probably only after national press and only to try and save face )The car had genuinly been traded in with the scrapage deal

No, a few dealerships did just the same thing (or at least that's what I read on other Mini/car forums) and plonked a classic/real Mini on the forecourt with the 2 grand stickers all over it.
But yes it was only after all the negative complaints that BMW finally took action.
