I am having a problem with steering wheel vibration.Have done all the normal things--wheels balanced, tracking checked, etc.,but it is still doing it. It is not confined to any particular speed.Any ideas anyone, please?

Hmmm. Is there any play in the steering column bushes.? Grab hold of the steering wheel and move it sideways and then up and down. Also, pull it out towards you just in case the pinch bolt is loose. Check to see if there is any play in the steering rack and or track rod ends as well.

Everthing on the list seems to be O.K. I have booked it in to Jed in Ferryside on Tuesday so that he can get it on the ramp and thoroughly check it out. Will keep you posted,Dai.

Jed should be able to find where the vibration is emanating from Brian. Could be any one of many things causing it although it's not something obvious at the moment. Better safe than sorry. Good luck.

mine vibrates through the steering wheel due to increased track and grip. fine on 12s but made a difference on 13s. shaking all the time. not bad but does shake.

Mine used to shake like mad and i found out it was the brake discs, they weren't warped but they were off centre so they moved vertically. Must have been machining problem or something. So it could be worth checking

Appears to have been caused by recently fitted poly.bushes to the engine stabilisers. Have reverted to rubber ones and the vibration has stopped.I'm relieved that it was nothing too serious!

glad its sorted, never been a fan of poly bushes on engine steadies, might be worth trying those (ones i mentioned on the gower run) uprated ones for the mpi that rover fitted, slightly harder to deal with the extra power but dont shear the bolts or cause vibration
