Seen that thread somewhere before. I tried that with small parts etc, but didn't get the same results. Could be because i used Morrissons own brand vinegar.

Looking forward to seeing how it works, I would say cleaner side in but only because it wouldnt get dirty on that side when it was fitted But dont take my word for it !!!

think we need to dig out that old thread with all the alternative cleaning products ( veggy oil for graphics + shaving cream for roof linings etc ) bound to be more alternatives out there

nice to see it works ;D great solution if your not in a rush and dont mind the wait. i'd imagine some wire brushing before the soak might speed things up ?

i just use this stuff www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?productID=8229&frostProductName=Metal%20Ready%20(946ml,%20US%20Quart)&catID=&frostCat=&frostSubCat=&subCatID= its not exactly cheap but its done its stuff after 15 min (30 on really rusty stuff) it works great plus it has the advantage of etching the metal and the zinc coating i got a old door skin that was treated with the stuff then never painted and has been out side for a month or so, i'll get a pic of it tomorrow
