Whilst we were on our holiday in Tenby (or just outside in a cottage at Stepaside), we went off to St Davids for a run and some lunch. We headed for The Farmers Arms pub, but as it was gone 2.30pm they'd stopped serving meals and so we had to make do with chips instead.
But whilst heading from the car park we spotted this original looking MK3 Mini 1000 parked up and I had to stop and get a few pictures: -
It's still got the original BL dealer sticker in the rear window. Anyway after taking that shot a bloke appeared asking if I wanted to buy it, so I just pointed out I already had a Mini although I'd love this one if I had the money. I was wearing one of my Italian Job t-shirts at the time, so I guess he sussed out I was a bit of a Mini nut.
Anyway he only bought that Mini for his son last year from a little old lady who lived locally and she'd owned it from new, only used it once a week or so to run around the village and it only had 35,000 miles on the clock. The interior was immaculate and it must be a super deluxe model as it had the face level air vents like the Clubman and later Minis.
So we had a bit of a chat and the bloke said how he didn't want to alter it at all as it was so original, but his son wanted a Mini to customise instead. He did mention e-Bay so I pointed out the fact that you really have to be careful and stuff and I told him how he could adjust the front seats to get more leg room.
I'd have liked to have chatted more, because there were loads of stuff I'd have liked to have asked but didn't think to at the time. But I did get a couple more snaps as he was leaving: -
I said they'd get put on the forum here, so hopefully they'll become members.
