imobalizer problems big time

i have a 1996 mini equinox, for soem reason the fob no longer connects to the imobaliser and i can not get the thing to turn off anymore.
it has been sat in a garage for a week now and they carnt even fix it, tried all the usual things even a new fob and nothing.
has anyone had a simmilar problem and how did they get around this. or if you know a garage that actualy knows something about cars that would suit me as well.

Is it turning over at all, Have you tried the fuel cut off switch under the bonnet ( black push button near the wiper motor) And check the inline fuse behind the air box brown and purple (I think)

If it is def the immobilser you should check the relay first (number 2)



If all this fails, then you can get a bypass relay (but you will loose the alarm function too )

Best to give them a ring as they will be able to tell you exactly what one you will need.

wow thanks a lot that should help i am going to go to the garage in the morn with my dad and give it a go if not i will get the bypass relay and see what i can do from there. you sure those things really work, i was running out of ideas big time hope this is the end of my mini problems for now.

I hope its one of the easier fixes for you , I wont gaurantee it is one of the things I posted but worth checking them in that order first

yea i will do thanks for them friendly advice, this mini only getting back on the road with help form people like you as a garage carnt seem to fix cars around here. !

just to fill you all in that i tried everything and nothing seemed to work, in the end i had to send the computer away at a cost of £250 to have the immobiliser deprogramed out of the car.
