Wireless problems , HELP !!!

my laptop has broke down

it seems my wireless card will not switch on, was useing it then suddenly it crashes and freezes, restart it and when hovering the mouse over the wireless card symbol it says "Ralink Wireless LAN Card not exist"

I have tried a system restore, have done a full virus check and shows nothing, when I try to open the config panel of the wireless card it wont open, Any idea's ?
I have use of sons laptop for an hour, so any advce welcome

After a quick Google Search I found this information: -

If you are confident such a card is installed,
In Device Manger open "Network Adapters"
and see if anything is disabled.

do you have the laptops recovery disks? could be worth chucking in the windows disk that came with it and running a 'repair' it will check all the drivers are present and correct and then will rejig them so they all have the original settings.

You can probably get a recovery disc from the manufacturer. But it probably won't be for free though.

Just fixed it, and i am going to put a complaint into pc world

I have had a load of various pop ups over the last month from the techguys at pc world telling me my warranty was running out and asking me to buy another, had one about an hour before it crashed but didnt think anything of it, I've just found thier built in program, disabled it and now my wireless card works again

How can they know when my warranty is up without pre-installing software, and is there any way I could find out if it was thier software that caused the problem
