A strange ticking noise just emerged from nowhere when sitting at traffic lights, from the fan side... checked around for obvious stuff like something touching the fan or alternator fan. Nowt. not coming from cv joint. oil pressure and water temp fine and engine running fine. I AM STUCK !! Any ideas ? please im frustrated lol

Does this only happen when the oil is up to temp? or is it constant?

Its not a constant (tick tick tick) its more like a stone in the fan or like its bouncing around if you know what i mean

hmm I Wouldnt have thought it to be anything in the fan, because if anything bounced up there, it would shoot back out instantly.
What air filter have you got? if you've got a standard box type, could the lid be loose?.
Have you look at the engine bay while you hear the noise?

Actually, I think it could be the radiator. It wouldnt be serious if it was anyway. Do the heaters work to full heat?

Yeah lovely and warm... i hope it isnt anything serious. i cant see the fan hitting anything and there are no marks on the blades. given it a shake when its running aswell to see if it stops or make it worse and it stays the same.

Is the oil too thick/thin? Did you get the same oil as always? same oil as oilways I was gonna type then. ****

Not sure what was put in but i did suspect it was too thin, so i did top it up with some thicker stuff but it could still be a bit thin.

Yeah I reckon that'll do it. give it 250ml, but no more than 500 I'd say.
