Driving the workhorse around (Escort Diesel) today, had been a little rougher than usual.
Got worse as I neared home, then bang. Cambelt snapped, one duff engine later.
Time for the scrap man to call.
Any cheap runabouts out there let me know!!

Well, have a new car Escort 1.6 16v, one lady owner low mileage. Very pleased. Little tale of caution for everyone though, did manage to get a car before this one. The test drive went well although I had some doubts about one or two things. After paying and getting it home I run a check on www.motinfo.gov.uk it's a site where if you have the registration and V5 reference number you can request MOT history. Did this and it came up with several major points failure. Checked these out and they were still the same, not repaired. Phoned the seller back and she was gutted (really nice kid), said she had asked a friend to get the MOT and he had obviously got a dodgy one (main dealer at that), she gave a full refund and was going to chase the matter up. Top Tip - If you are looking to buy a car take the V5 reference number down and registration use the site above and you can check up on advisories, fails, etc. Mark

Should be sorted now I put a , instead of a . www.motinfo.gov.uk/if you look on the left hand side you see the option for request history which gives you all the info since electronic MOT's (about 4 years worth). Mark
