hi guys, ive come across 5 sets of these,, all in mint condition in cadrboard tubes, as my internet access is limited at the mo, i was just wondering the history and year,, any ideas??? the one poster is about 8ft long and about 3ft high, for mini show rooms im guessing, cheers guys,,

What a great find Irish and I'll stick my neck out and say they date from around 1971 as that was when 'The Fabulous Five Minis' brochure was first issued by British Leyland: -

Okay it says 1972 on that page, but my copy is dated 1971 on the small print on the rear.

ive offered the guy £20 for the full set, 1 tube,, (as he knows im mini mad) the plan is to make frames for them an stick them all over the flat, lol,
he seems to think there worth a fortune, any orders i can take, the more the merrier, but £20 my limit,
hes tells me he,l stuff them on e-bay first,, it would be nice to have them, but,,, i,l let you know,, theres 5 tubes, all orginal nick, i want one bad ,, but im not telling him that

That's just too kind Irish and I can't take a massive freebie like that.

As much as I'd love one, you could make a killing on e-Bay and the cash would go towards maintaining your collection of classic cars?

Mind you thinking about it (well I am getting older and need more time for what brain cells I've got left to kick in) and not wanting to sound anoarkish. I'd says those posters were probably used during March 1972.

Reason being is because sadly the short lived MK3 Mini Cooper S ended production in July 1971.

So that 'The Fabulous Five Minis' BL brochure came out some time after July 1971.

Therefore those posters must originate from March 1972?

I supposed they could have been used in March 1973, but a different Mini brochure was in use by then, so it's unlikely.

Right I'll switch my brain cells off again to conserve energy.
