That is a sobering image. As you say, be careful. Also I feel the filename of that photo could've been a tad more respectful and less clinical. but then most people won't see that it's called "FATAL.jpg" Back to the brightside! Congratulations have fun!

Yes spotted that on The Mini Forum and someone did comment that it's always best to ensure your Minis shell is kept in good shape.
So try to avoid over-sills or filler etc in important structural areas (not that they were implying that was the case here).
Either way RIP to the poor guy.

It really is in a hell of a state... I remember when I got my Mini restored. He showed me half way through it what was left of the different load bearing sections of the car (rear subframe mounts, inner sills, outer sills, seatbelt mounts, sill jack points, Bulkhead). we came to the conclusion that if I was hit from any angle at more than a couple of miles an hour I'd have had the other car resting on my lap...
From now on If I spot any rust creeping up anywhere near anything that could get hit im getting it sorted...

One or both of those cars must have been going at quite a speed though for the new Fiesta driver to have spinal damage?

Didn't someone on TMF say it was a fairly quick road (50mph?) 50mph to 0 in a short space of time never good.

Plus 50 probably means both cars could have been travelling even faster?

On average people do exceed the speed limit, so yeah it's likely
