Just had a super quick look about on TMF.
Other than that the entire thread broke down into a few people talking about spitfires...
Some one mentioned 'Britax' making a suitable one. but ive no idea what age that was for. and they only mentioned the name and no model numbers etc...

What age/model Mini are we talking about here? Reason I ask is because the seat belts went from no seat belts as standard until around 1987. Then Minis came with 2 point lap belts, 3 point lap belts and then 3 point inertia reel belts.
Our baby girl is 15 months old and her baby seat fits in the rear of our Mini okay. Well ours has the 3 point lap belts and so it's a fiddle getting the baby seat fixed in place nice and safely. But it does fit a treat once sorted.
We've also got a Quinny 3 wheeler buggie/pushchair and that folds up so small it fits in the boot of our Mini with room to spare for shopping and stuff.

yea sorry its a group one car seat. its a three point inertia belt, but because the minis 69, theres no mounting point for the belt. so the inertia reel had to be fixed onto the parcel shelf. anyone who has had a similar problem? i doubt it but its worth a try, thanks

The rear parcel shelf on a Mini isn't the ideal place to mount an inertia reel.
Okay we once owned a 1985 Mini City E where the previous owner had done just that so they could fit a baby seat. But the trouble is it's not a strong enough area to take the forces placed on it in the event of a collision.
I've heard it can pull the whole rear panel inwards in extreme circumstances?
But saying that, I'd imagine it's not ideal for an adult to use a seat belt fitted that way. As for a baby seat, I'm not so sure, because there's not going to be so much weight and chances are it'd work okay.
Although don't quote me on that.
The main places that Minis got seat belt adapter plates fitted were on the lower part of the firewall, boot side from 1982. Then soon afterwards (or possibly at the same time?) adapter plates were fitted just behind the rear quarterlight windows. Then from 1996 adapter plates were fitted to the rear wheel arches and that's where the rear mounted inertia reel seat belts got mounted.
