hey everyone, im just after a bit of advice. Ive recently taken an engine out of a mini as a replacement for my 998. But im unsure what size engine the new one actually is and i dont know how to tell which one it is. I drove the car that the engine came out of and its a damn sigth quicker than the 998 so im pretty sure its a 1300. Any help? Cheerz ;D

Take the rocker cover off and check the code number, usually in the middle of the head. If the code is 12G940 it should be a 1275 engine.

Also there should be an engine number on the block and it should say something like 99HXXXXX, there are a list on identity numbers on the link below. MINIMANIA Site
