Well, took the figgy for an MOT retest this morning. On Saturday I swaped the strut for a new one, welded the floor (the plate ended up 8 inches x 2 by the time I had cleaned it up) and seam sealer'd and shutz'ed it, adjusted the headlamp aim and put a full bottle of Redex (oops only meant to be half a bottle to 50 litres) in and brimmed the tank to dilute it a little and work it's magic for this morning ;D. The previous failed CO readings were supposed to be 3.50 max and it was 4.39 so failed. I was really concerned about the emissions as it's the only thing you can't check and due to the figaro being an injected turbo, the lambda sensor tells the ecu to alter the fuelling so in effect the mixture cannot be altered. Anyway, I also took out the air filter picked up the idle speed to 1000 revs when warm and left it idling for 2 hours before the retest and the value had gone down to 0.01%.................I was amazed. Anyway the result is it now has a full ticket on it. ;D ;D ;D I suppose this is worth keeping in mind for Mini owners as they can be problematic on emissions.
