i have the 2 clock setup on my 82 mayfair and there are 2 spare wires next to the fuel/water temp clocks.could these be for the rev counter.one is black and white and other is green and orange.if so if i put a rev counter to them should it work or do i have to connect them to the appropriate place?

has one got a round connection and one a spade connection....if so they are most prob 4 the revs...but cant remember the green and orange one on mine, but it is newer

they both female spade connectors.shall i risk putting them to the rev counter?

its not something silly like the heater wiring ...or the brake switch on the pedal, or maybe even the reverse switch...i think i had all of them lurking around there somewhere?...i`ll have a looka the the wiring diagram tmoz or the actual car if no one else can help 2nite...

its none of them.they tied to the wires going into the back of the clocks.i wont connect them til i know for sure :-)thanks ju.

i`ll have a peek at rubys wiring...and byrons cabrio...is it green with an orange tracer?...the black n white is most prob an earth?

both for tachometer
light green/ orange is the +12v
white/black is the trigger (is connected to the low tension of the coil)
green should be a bullet conector and the white a spade

maybe they have been spliced before, hence the spade connectors....
