Okay. It would be nice to know what Wheels members prefer to have on their Mini. Alright, i know some members Minis came with whatever wheels were fitted as standard, but what size wheels would you really like to have???

Ok I know what everyones going to say, 10"s and fat for me and they look mean under sportspack arches too. I'm fitting 14"s because, alright!!! ;D No really I'm fitting 14" because it's the look I'm going for on this Mini as other sizes wouldn't look right with the kit. Look at the arches fitted to the ERA, even with 13"s the gap between tyre and arch was big enough to post a house brick through

Have to vote for 12" here. Rover Coopers look odd with 10" and all out of proportion!
Knew of a guy who fitted 13" wheels to his Rover Cooper and had nothig but trouble with increased tyre drag Car looked nice (pre spostspack days) but performance & fuel econony dropped enormously
Have had 12" Superlifes fitted to mine since the 1380S engine conversion - same wheels John Coopers fitted to their 'Grand Prix' Limited Edition Minis
Must admit though if I had a Mk1 or Van it would have to have 10"s

10's here. Minis were designed for 10's, handles better, and nothing else really has 10" wheels

I've had 13's, 13x7 Superlites... You know those deep dish ones... Found my steering was extreamly heavy, and I slid around like mad.
Theres a corner up here thats like a proper S bend... when i had my 13's I could take it around 40-45mph... with the back end threating to come out... Got the Van, and on standard 10" steelies I can take it at 60mph and not even have a slight twitch from the back end of the Van...
Although, I have took it faster and ended up powersliding round the corner....

My first Mini (75' MKIII Mini 1000) had 10" wheels and a solid mounted front subframe, so the handling was phenomenal. But my current Mini rides on 12" wheels and has adjusta-ride suspension and gas Spax adjustable dampers, so the handling is pretty close to that of my old 10" wheeled Mini. Possibly better in some ways, since the wheels are less likely to get lost down pot holes? I've only ever driven Minis on 13" wheels a couple of times and TBH I wasn't too fussed. Although I hope to get mine riding on Yoko rubber soon because the Falcon tyres that are currently fitted provide great grip in the dry, but are a terrible worry in the wet!

But thinking about it, the 13" wheeled Minis I've driven were after-market kitted out jobs and not the official Rover Sportspack models. So I can't really comment.

I've driven a Rover Sportspack just like Tim's (Volcano Orange) and I loved every minute of it. I've owned a 1000 on 10"s and a 1275GT and Rover Cooper Carb on 12"s and to tell you the truth I couldn't care as I was having the best time of my life in all the Mini's I've driven!!!
I think you just adapt to the Mini's set up (very quickly because you've got a huge smile on your face) and get on with it ;D
