it goes on the car, unless you have an earlier type....yours is the same as our 3 minis so just pop it around the lip of the boot...(not the boot lid)

ahhaha man that must leek i have seals on mine and still my car battery had fungus growing on it!

I believe post 1989 models got the boot seal fitted around the lip of the boot. But I'm pretty sure earlier models can use the later seal too, but you'll have to remove the old seal from the boot lid first.

my 82 car has the seal on the boot lid.tried later type but it will not close.i think the boot lid is a different design

my 82 car has the seal on the boot lid.tried later type but it will not close.i think the boot lid is a different design i had that problem, after a rebuild we fitted the later style seal and the boot would not shut. we blamed the seal turns out that the boot hinges are sided  and swaping them over solved the problem |
