Don't go with footman & james unless you have plenty of no claims bonus that you want to pay the extra to protect. F&j don't allow no claims on the classic policies and don't allow minis on modified policies because ' they are classics'. Try liverpool victoria, pd james, hic, performance direct. Adrian flux are generally rubbish for me though....

classic insurance dosent carry no claims, thats given, but there taking the wee wee this year! the transit van is my usuall driver, and the poo box primera! that gives me the option to drive the other minis on a classic policy, cheap as chips, i,l call them monday and play hell with them, 10 years ive been with them now! but that can change in a heartbeat! £100 fully comp or kiss it!

My Minis covered via Mini Magazine Insurance, which is actually Performance Direct/Equity Redstar.
But it seems even with the credit crunch, lots of insurers are trying it on this year and we recently changed our house insurance when they put our renewal price up on last year.
I questioned why the monthly rate had been hiked (from 19 quid to 26 quid a month) and they lied by saying we'd paid a big deposit, but they were giving us 50 quid cash back though.
Cash back or not, they hiked up our policy and so we went elsewhere and saved money too. Bloody cheek since we've never even put a claim in, so it's their loss.

ive been lucky enough to never put a claim in aswell, well a breakdown or 3 but thats it! strange how the other minis are still £100 a year fully comp, yes there all on cover! and this year they want £160?? for the red hot, ! im ready to shift the transit, primera, 4 minis and the cortina mk 5 to another company. thats four figures a year in insurance, to drive one at a time! time far a change me thinks!
