So if you might remeber I've been having problems with the electrics with the Mini. In December I bought a new Battery from Halfords (big mistake) then after a week of working the dam thing just wouldnt hold any charge. So I went back and got a replacment. 2 weeks or so later the same thing started to happen again, I thought surly that it couldn't be the battey again! I had to jump start it everytime and even trickle charged it but it wasnt having any of it. It was off the road for a month whilst I was up in uni so I couldn't get it to a garage, I took it the other day and they gave me a spare battery for a few days and the thing works perfectly. So just stormed down to halfords and got my refund from the dam stupid place, piece of crap. **PRO TIP** Stay clear of Halfrauds!

from talking to the staff in the halfords next to work the company isnt in great shape, they have made several redundant from each store and the ones that are left have got to be trained to do every thing now so there wont be bike staff etc basicly they got less staff doing more work to try save money

I've asked for parts that are on their website and yet I've received blank looks and apologies and so I've then gone elsewhere. Their too damned lazy to even phone to see if they can order the stuff.
I've heard that they tend to only employ part-time staff now and they got rid of their full time knowledgeable staff in favour of kids who know nothing.
It can be a lottery though, because the staff at my local Halfords (Pontypridd) are useless but we found the staff at the Halfords at Haverfordwest to be very helpful.
I'd never buy a battery from them though, you can get far better batteries elsewhere for a fraction of the price.
Oh and to get to my local Halfords I have to pass 'Auto Spares' and that's nearly always full, where as Halfords is usually empty.

usually find autoparts good but did have to threaten them with trading standards a few months back as tried to charge me way over for an item that was marked up with the price, the bald headed guy in there is the most useless prat i have ever come across + should apply for a job with halfrauds straight away + come very close to wacking him with his attitude. manager was'nt much better + did'nt change his attitude about the price untill i took a photo of the items price tag on the item with my camera phone. soon agreed to sell at the price on the tag once he knew i would not be messed around but as a rule they are pretty good aslong as don't ask that bald prat anything cos he don't know a thing about cars or products they sell + is a yts muppet in disguise. rant over lol

I don't go in there that often, but they've usually got a queue.
Although I did go in there last year as they had a flexible extension piece for my grease gun hanging on their shelf.
Where as Halfords didn't (the Pontypridd branch didn't at least), even though they used to and the item is on their website. But the kiddies working there had no idea what it looked like or didn't bat an eyelid when I mentioned their website.
