Hey everyone. I filled up this morning (well... 3/4 according to the gauge... ) and drove from Loughor to bury port and back. and then from garden village up the road to fforestfach and back and apparently I have used just over 1/4 of a tank??? seems a lot? I'm going to check the oil in the dashpot tomorrow, maybe check the mixture if I can find the colourtune anything else I can do? I wasn't driving with a heavy foot or anything except after dropping my brother off in work (and that was only a lot of noise to get up to 40 ) The car doesn't smell of petrol. It isn't getting into the oil because if it was it would leak out and I'd smell it (yes, my oil leak is THAT bad..). It isn't leaking because it doesn't smell...

id thought it would be easier to join in as its about the same problem ! :S high fuel consumption and a petrol smell are different things. as for your problem it could be the carb over flowing

its had a new float and a new tank, maybe it is the carb as it does pop ** abit load lol ** maybe the carb needs tuning and a service kit

Seems like I parked it on a slant. Turns out I used just UNDER 1/4 of a tank... Does that seem high?
Topped up the dashpot, wasn't that low.
Going to colourtune it later...and set the idle. think its a bit slow. Any other things I can check?

it could posibly be a dodgy fuel sender, i used to have one that would get stuck so i thought i had plenty of petrol then a big bump in the road would free it up and suddenly i had none or no where near as much as i thought

Yeah think it's the sender.... I found my lead for my MJ yesterday so will be trying out a different map for a while soon (mainly for tinkering than anything else) so while that's telling me the idle I'll colour tune it, can't be arsed digging around for timing strobes when a laptop will do! lol ;D
Really need to get it set up properly...
