Phil buy a dozen pairs of mole grips and the required panels. Cut off the front panel and wings (leaving two inches of metal next to the seam for your fixings). Don't cut the inner wings yet!!!
Clamp all the panels together and to the Mini,(adjusting to get a good fit) now your ready to weld the three together. The result should be a prefectly allined front end, thats nice and tight to the rest of the body.
I think this is how Julie would of had hers done.

I'm sure I've seen this mod done as an article in one of the mags. Mind you, i could have been on the ALE as well.

Now that would make a good article, Dai welding up a steel flip front while on the Ale ;D

probably decided that i will go the fibreglass route after all, not confident to make a steel front end that would fit correctly, watching one on ebay at the moment so maybe that will be next weeks job if you need any photos of flip front welding etc just email + will sort you some out for you
