I also had an e-mail from YouTube recently which I assumed was a hoax and so I ignored it.

But when I log into my account now, I'm asked the same question which is: -

So is it worth the bother and has anyone else had the same message?

Taffy, think it could be an invite into their affiliate program.

As far as I am aware its the system where they add adverts over the top of the beginning of your videos (im sure you've seen them before), you and them get money for every one that's clicked by a new random person. (although it's only about a few pence..)

there's usually some mental terms of service agreement though, so if interested read it through carefully.

If in doubt though, email them and ask what it is all about

What types of videos are acceptable for revenue sharing

Plus I wouldn't be surprised if the advert that got attached to it was BINI and/or BMW related, because that's what's usually linked to my free Mini website.
