Help needed name of good garage....

Hello all I am new to this forum and really need some help ...I bought an automatic j reg mini and it was lush until the reverse went.. ...I was advised that changing the engine to a manual would be a lot less than fixing the automatic reverse...well i bought an engine and clutch and all the other bits and bobs including the mount and my friend was going to help me change it...however, due to time this has never happened and I am dying to get it out and going again....can any one give me a name of a good garage person...I live near newport but as the mini is working fine..(apart from reverse!) I can get around....any help would be welcome as I am anxious to get it up and running...it does not deserve to be sitting in a garage unloved!!

hope they told you that need to change engine mountings, not hard but need to be done as different on manual engine

The main problem is that the front subframe is different on an auto to a manual I have managed to fit a manual into an auto subframe with modified engine mounts but it might be easier to change the subframe too.

hello all thanks for the reply...i got everything and it didnot cost that much (i don't think but I am a novice at all this!!!!) as I picked them up from scrap yards and ebay..about £200 in all....it was just that my friend said that he could do this and put the engine in but it is just not getting done..lol!!! I was just wondering if anyone knew of a garage that would do the fitting? i can not even pick up the blooming engine let alone think about getting it in the car..lol!!
