A quick hello, just joined after seeing the orange 1275 for sale on ebay. Just bought a one owner GT which has been sat rusting in peace for the last 25 years. I'll post pics as soon as I can. Everything is currently original on the car but the shell is too far gone to save so I have ordered a BMH shell for January.
Just a little bit about me, I live in Bridgend, this will be the third GT I have owned, the first back in 87 the last in 2005 sold to a guy in Bristol after a fairly intensive resto. Not planning on doing any welding on this new car but it has to wait until I've finished my spitfire hence the January start.

Some pics of the spitfire would be good too, I've got my eye on one as a replacement to my mini in the next month or two.

good choice, we bought a BMH shell 7 years ago and we cant fault it.
in the long run its the cheaper option as you know it wont need any welding for at least 15-20 years if looked after properly and rust proofed when new. good luck with the reshell

Hadn't really had a chance to look at it until today, only 46000 miles on the clock but an absolute rust bucket, just need to decide what I need to keep and what can be scrapped!!

Me neither, I'd snap their hand off, because I would of scrapped it, but I know nothing
