Am in the process of changing rear brake shoes and cylinders on our 1990 mini flame as brakes have been quire spongey/"censored"e recently.
Have managed to replace everything ok but now can't get the drum back on, the adjuster just seems to allow brakes at on or off and at neither setting can I get the drum on, I had to drain the fluid when changing cylinder and haven't topped it up and bled the system yet, could this be stopping the brakes from decompressing enough to allow it to slot on?

If you haven't bled the brakes yet try undoing the bleed nipple to release some pressure in the cylinder, you may be able to press the shoes in a bit more.
