Im sure shot blasting isnt good for Minis.... or was it sand blasting that isn't good... cant remember... I'd send a PM to Ljonez (unless he see's this first) im pretty sure I read it from advice he gave previously.. something about distorting the panels...

I've heard that too Coed..
By the time you sell the bits off the civic, you should have a cheap engine..

yeah, with the shot blasting we got a list for all the panels, pretty much know what we will need to replace, just want to get the shell all brand new, gona cut it all out aswell. got a list with about 15 panels on lol, cost alot less than expected.
haa, i actually cant believe im going ahead with the vtec conversion, i also need to order the front subframe and rear beam axle with coil overs after all body is done.
any reccomendations on what i need to get? and also what breaks would be best to fit.... cooper S brake calipers??

It depends what size wheels you are going to use. Even a well set up set of 10 inch S brakes is going to struggle with that amount of power. As Coedy said, "the bigger the better". Metro Turbo might do the job.

subframe wise if you are planing on keeping the mini track width then allspeed is the cheapest option or if you have the money the minitec kit is a work of art, therrs also the metro frame option.
cant really comment on rear beams but from what has been said on the 16v mini club the TDK item is good.
unless your planning on keeping 10'' wheels then go bigger, the cooper s disks are only 7.5'' where as disks for alloy 4 pots come in 7.9 or 8.4'' versions. i went for 8.4! if you got the money there is also the willwood/mintec brakes that use an 9.5'' disk

Yeah, 4 pots or something...
Also make sure you adjust your rear brakes when you fit them back onto the rear beam so they stand some chance of trying to help you slow down... (note to self, check rear brakes when the Minifins go on....)

with the wheels im gona get a new 7x13 set, so with the brakes i have heard i'd need the biggest i could get. Also recently i got this vtec conversion guide which is a real help.... the subframe does look the business, int had a look at tha minitec... will do right now! the guide does say about these tarox brakes. and have been looking at the metro turbo. might just try and get the cheapest price i can find on the best if reasonable. Also got all my panels,, had 18 parts and it all came to 498.92 VAT inc and p+p
