Went to a driving experience day at Prestwold Circuit yesterday, it was awesome.
Ferrari 360 Modena
This was the first car I drove. Very impressive, but had done a lot of miles and developed a misfire, still very fast though. Best paddles of the day, but not the best shift.
Aston Martin DB9
As it's more a GT car than a track car, much more refined, nicer inside, quieter, heavier. Still very fast, made a nice noise once you pushed it a lot. Paddles were a bit too close to the other stalks, so could accidentally hit them. Very very nice car, but you could definitely feel the weight.
Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder
500bhp, 4WD, bright yellow inside and out, massive noise! massive acceleration and massive grip. Fantastic car really enjoyed it. Although it had very thin paddles, which were hard to find sometimes.
Porsche 911 (991) GT3
Dad loves the 911, so we were dissapointed when we watched it, seemed to be going very slow, very quietly...
However, driving it myself, it was excellent, fastest of the day, great sound, amazing handling. Just pipped Gallardo to being the best car of the four.
Lotus Elise
Dads surprise for me, wasn't expecting to get an extra 2 laps with this car. What was booked was 4 laps each for the previous 4 cars. So this was a great surprise. I really love the Lotus Elise, and would love to own one one day. This has not changed.
It was obviously underpowered compared to the others, but the feel of the car, and it's handling was superb. Only car with a manual, and it had been abused a bit so quite a sloppy change. Jumped from 2nd to 5th when I first got on track. Which allowed one of those new Nissan GT-R's to get on my tail and overtake on the next straight. However I managed to keep on his tail for the rest of the lap which got some comments from spectators when I got out of the car
Excellent day all in all, thank you Mum and Dad!
