Hey,
Don't let it get you down, you should have a look at Project Blue. It was packed with rust, bodge jobs and very poor welding.
I was told that it had all the body work done for the MOT, best part this was from as 'ex' club member so took thier word for it with only a quick glance. No one warned me off from buying so my moto is check well before you part with cash even if it's your mother selling it.

When I looked at 'Blue' there were oversills and as said above what was under them is the worry. I had a quick check in the rear side pockets and sure enough loads of holes and rust waiting to eat its way into the 'new' sill. 'Blue' is no longer repairable in my eyes.
I believe all welding has to be seam welded now as the old 'stitch' weld (inch of weld, inch gap) is an MOT fail.

Your really lucky that they wern't like Tim's! Floor doest look too bad anyway! Its not been jacked up on the floor pan like 90% of Minis have so that's a bonus! ;D
