hi, i'm looking to fit a new set of rims and tyres onto my girlfriends mini but unsure on sizes, at the minute the tyres on it are 145/70 12, the tyre packages i have found come with 5x12 rims and 165/60 12 tyres or 6x12 rims with the same size tyres, can anybody tell me which I need?

Has the car got arches fitted.?
If you go too wide with the wheels you may have to fit wider arches.

And cut away the front leading edge of the wings

car is completely standard, just want to renew rims and tyres

If you don't want to modify the wings the widest you can go are 5x12 and you may get away with 165/60 tyres
