Hello All!
I need to get a new gear knob my mini.. the one I've got is a chrome/metal type one.. which looks nice.. but the past few mornings it's been like grabbing a lump of ice when getting in the car..! So before proper winter arrives and my fingers drop off from frost bite I am going to get a new none metal one!
So my question, albeit maybe a bit silly is... Can I just go an buy any old gear knob off ebay that screws on? or will only certain types fit?
Thanks for your advice
Bex

Pretty sure they are mostly all compatable as long as you dont buy one that says its for a particular make of car (Renault or BMW or Toyota etc). Ideally look for a gear knob that says"universal" or one that mentions "Mini" or "Classic Mini"(but not BMW MINI!). Wood or leather or plastic will be better that the metal one for the winter time. I know what you mean about the "lump of ice" feeling, Ive got an alloy Cooper Gear Knob that is just the same! Of course you can always wear gloves to drive tho! ;D

Thanks, sorry for delay in replying! Your idea of gloves has given me an idea though.. maybe I can put some sort of glove over the gear knob... hmmmm...

If you are going to cover the gear knob, make sure its a tight fit. Last thing you need is it coming off in your hand !!!
